This is our mission: "To instruct and inspire through experiences with the natural world." How did we get started? Read our story!

Why Should You Choose Us?

As the owner of Lost Creek Adventures I first want to thank you for taking the time to read this, because if you're on this page you're not just in search of the best price. You don't want to waste money, but more importantly, you don't want to waste your time. What are the differences  between all of the choices that you have for your Apostle Islands adventure? Here are a few things we do differently:

  • We are one of the few outfitters approved by the National Park Service. If a business is not approved by the park it is likely that they don't meet certain criteria for training and safety.

  • We follow eco-minded business practices, from how we transport our trips to local food choices, including being the only outfitter that produces all of our own electricity. Read about our commitment to solar. We also hold a Travel Green Wisconsin award.

  • Everyone offers a half-day tour to the sea caves. We offer the most caves and 3.5 hours of combined instruction and paddling.

  • We use as much organic and local foods as possible in our menu, substituting from my home garden when in season.

  • We demand the highest level of training for our guides, not only at the beginning of the season, but continued training throughout the summer.

  • If you prefer nature over shopping, our location offers on-site lodging and has the best beaches in the area with several waterfalls within 2 miles of us.

  • Still not sure? Read some recommendations on how to choose an Apostle Islands outfitter in this article.

Hours Of Operation

During the summer season we are open from 8am to 6pm, and it's always important to make a reservation ahead of time. During the non-summer

seasons our shop is open limited hours and by appointment.

Location, Lodging & Services

Cornucopia is the western gateway to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, and adjacent to mountain bike & hiking trails, smaller lakes great for fishing, waterfalls, and of course the village of Cornucopia itself which boasts a famous general store, restaurants, and a full-service marina. Our paddling shop also hosts Airbnb lodging options and we are located right across the street from the beach. For more area information see our resources page.
